This is just a small sampling of the 90+ pounds of honey Don harvested from his bees.

We've got honey to sell again, and in a new style of jar.

Wedneday, June 8th There's Blueberries and Raspberries in there somewhere.....

Don takes on the job of weeding around the bluesberries and raspberries for the first time this year.

Tuesday, June 7th, Acting Like Chickens

The chicks are starting to act like chickens, roosting up at night, getting their adult feathers, and the young rooster is starting to grow some spurs.

Monday, June 6th Chick Attack and a New Security System

A little Barred Rock hen was killed by a hawk.  A new security system was installed soon afterwards.  So far, no more hawk attacks.

We strung fishing line across the chicks outside yard, tied orange ribbon onto it, and moved the owl from the hen yard to the top of the nursery roof.

First I had to stop for a Snapping Turtle, and then for some cows crossing to their pasture.

Thursday, June 2 A Southwestern Supper and a Super Hero

by Scott!  We have Pork Tacos, Chicken Tomales, Nopalito and Beet Salad, all with fresh guacamole, and followed by refreshing Grapefruit and Tarragon Sorbet.  It was deeelicious !!!

Emily made the guacamole, while enjoying a refreshing beverage

Scott had fresh cactus shipped in to make the nopalito salad.

The pork butt cooked all day in aromatic spices and citrus in the crock pot, then was made crusty by a hot fry in a cast iron pan, then shredded to use for tacos.

One of the hives became so overcrowded, that a swarm of bees decided to move out.  They contemplate their next move from 40 feet up in a tree, just above their old hive.

Sunday, May 29th A Hot Run and Keeping Cool at Camp

Don and I spent a hot day at the Vermont City Marathon, while Scott and crew kept cool at Camp.

Saturday, May 28th Buddy and Holly

My relay team partner and his wife.  Holly ran the entire marathon, Buddy and I shared it, me taking the first half, and him the second.  He waited for Holly at the half to finish it with her. Buddy and Holly are from NYC and the first I met them was at the marathon expo.
