Wednesday, April 20 Untapping with Banjo and The Spring Beauties

Don went about the woods, pulling out the taps and draining the drop lines. Banjo was his constant companion and he had to be careful to avoid stepping on all the Spring Beauty flowers that are carpeting the woods floor.

Tuesday, April 19th #61 and a Pie to Show for It

Don turned 61 and his only request for the day was for a Lemon Meringue Pie, of course!

Monday, April 18th Garden Planting Has Begun

Several of the seed packets say "plant in March, as soon as the soil can be worked", so I planted five rows of seeds including shelling peas, sugar snap peas, arugula, Red Sails lettuce, radishes and cilantro.  Some seeds share a row.

Thursday, April 14th " I gotta get out of this place!"

This poor little guy was stuck in the bottom of a Home Depot orange bucket in the barn.  There were some bread crumbs in there that I was feeding to the chickens.  So, he wasn't starving.  But from the looks of the mouse droppings, he'd been in there a while.  After a photo or two, I put the bucket on it's side so he could escape.

Tuesday, April 12th Sound's Good!

Don stayed up late many nights wiring and installing some new speakers for our sound system.  Music never sounded so good, and you can hardly tell the speakers are there, up in the ceiling.  In only took five years for him to get around to it!  Yea for retirement!

Sunday April 10th Gone Boating

Saturday, April 2nd Maple Sugarhouse Open House

This Saturday and Sunday is the statewide Maple Sugar Open House Weekend.  We had loads of visitors, but the cutest and the smartest was this little one who knew to eat her waffle right under the maple syrup bottling spout, so she could get more syrup as soon as necessary.
