Monday, July 25th Venison Pastrami

.....makes delicious sandwiches!
Don seasoned a venison roast for 5 days, smoked it for 3 hours, and steamed it for 1 hour, then got out his meat slicer and created thin, succulent slices of sandwich meat.  He put it between slices of seeded rye bread, added sauerkraut, swiss cheese and russian dressing and grilled it till it was crisp on the outside and melty on the inside.  Accompanied by pickles, chips, and beer, it made a great Sunday supper!

Laundry out to dry.  Apartments are built with clothes dryers mounted outside their windows.  Older places improvise.

Bikes, scooters and motorcycles are just part of the traffic.

Watching the sunrise on the tarmac of the Burlington Airport, step one on our trip to China

How we looked before 16 hours of  plane travel.  This was on the flight to Chicago. You don't want to see the 'after' picture.
Flying over Hudson Bay on the way to Shanghai

Our first dinner in China.  A little place around the corner from the hotel.

I am not sure what the different dishes are, but they were all delicious.

The view from our hotel window.
